Tuno is a next-generation portable DJ device. It brings DJing into everyday life beyond the stage.
With its intuitive ring-shaped design, users can seamlessly blend tracks, control EQ and FX, and create their own sound. Designed for both experienced DJs and newcomers, Tuno features familiar interactions that allow existing DJ users to adapt quickly without additional learning.

Me DJing
As an industrial designer and DJ, I created Tuno from my own experience. Music and inspiration exist everywhere in everyday life, but DJing is not always accessible. Tuno connects with music streaming apps, allowing users to instantly mix and express musical ideas anywhere.

To explore intuitive DJ interactions,  collaborated with five DJs and observed how they performed using CDJ equipment. Their movement paths were traced and overlapped to identify recurring interaction patterns within DJ performances.

For DJs familiar with CDJ equipment, Tuno feels instantly intuitive. It supports essential functions such as FX, EQ, and beat matching in a compact form with built-in wireless earbuds.
Tuno simplifies conventional knob controls through a click wheel and scroll interface. The click wheel selects frequencies, while the scroll adjusts each level.

The earbuds’ motion sensor tracks head movement for intuitive monitoring.
Inspired by the way DJs listen with one side of their headphones, tilting the head to either side allows users to monitor each deck in real time.
